Development Process

Site Planning

Step 2 - Site Planning
Once the goal has been identified to both the client and Webline's satisfaction, we move on to the second stage of our development process which is the Site Planning stage. At this point, Webline develops a site map (or navigational table of contents) for the site, one which includes certain structural elements that our experiences indicates are essential, and other project specific elements.

The project specific elements will be determined by a thorough review of the client's industry, goals, and image. A site meant to promote a company's brand will have different sections than one developed as a strictly E-commerce tool. Similarly, a site created for a client in the pharmaceutical industry will have a significantly different structure than one that is created for a client in the fashion industry.

Concurrent with the creation of a site map is the development of the site's look and feel. After extensive review of the client's goals and current image, Webline will provide several (usually three) sample "looks" for the client to choose from. These looks, like the site map, are intended to be used as a starting point. Through a process of review and revision, these sample looks will be refined until the final look of the web site is determined.
